The map shows the Hamble Peninsula, orientated with north at the top. The peninsula is bordered by Southampton Water to the west and the River Hamble to the east. The walking routes are shown as dotted black lines.

There are three interconnected routes across the peninsula:

Southern Loop Starting at (1) Hamble Common in the south, the route follows the foreshore anti-clockwise around the common, passing (2) Hamble Common Creek and continuing north along the eastern shore past (3) the Village, near St Andrew's Church, and (4) the River Hamble foreshore, with Hamble Point Marina visible to the south-east. The loop then returns west and south back to Hamble Common.

Southampton Water Foreshore Walk From Hamble Common, a route follows the western shore of the peninsula northwards alongside Southampton Water, passing through Coronation Parade and continuing up to the village area, where it connects with the northern route, or further South to connect to the Southern Loop.

Northern Route From the village junction, the route splits into two arms heading north. The eastern arm follows the river shore past Port Hamble Marina and continues north to Mercury Marina and Badnam Copse. The western arm heads north-west past the School and up to Hamble Station. The two arms do not connect at the northern end — walkers return back along each arm to the village junction.

All three routes connect in the central village area, allowing walkers to combine them into a longer walk.
