𝗣𝗘𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗨𝗟𝗔𝗥 𝗗𝗘𝗙𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗚𝗥𝗢𝗨𝗣 (𝗣𝗗𝗚): 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗔𝗶𝗿𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝗖𝗲𝗺𝗲𝘅 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗹 – 𝟳 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸?
🔷 We have submitted our Proof of Evidence (PoE) to the planning inspector. This formal written document has been prepared by our solicitor from the data and research provided by the PDG and our specialist consultants. It outlines our arguments against the quarry, and presents relevant information, analysis, facts, and professional opinions. Hampshire County Council and Cemex have also submitted their PoEs this week.
🔷 If you have previously written to the planning inspector, you may have received an email from the Development Management department at Hampshire County Council this week. This email confirmed the dates of the Inquiry, which has been split into 2 blocks due to availability (1-4 April and 24-25 June) and the location: Ashburton Hall in Winchester. The Inquiry will also be live-streamed – we will share the live-stream link with you on 31 March.

𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝗜 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝘆?
🔷 The afternoon of Day 1 of the Inquiry (Tuesday 1 April) will be open to the public to speak and make their views heard.
🔷 Due to the number of objections put forward by Hamble residents and businesses, the inspector is encouraging a co-ordinated approach to avoid significant repetition of the same points.
🔷 As a 'Rule 6' party, the Peninsular Defence Group is limited to defending the reasons for refusal only. That's why it's important for you to speak up and share your concerns on any other points at the public session on 1 April.
🔷 Jennie Austin has kindly offered to coordinate anyone who wishes to speak to ensure that we follow the inspector’s advice and avoid duplication.

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗲?
🔷 If you do not wish to speak at the Inquiry, or are unable to attend on 1 April, the best way to contribute would be to help Hamble Peninsular Residents’ Group raise money to pay some of the legal costs arising from our defence. 🔷 In addition to the community donations, the Parish Council has committed funds from our own resources to help pay for the village’s defence. Eastleigh Borough Council has also provided fundraising support, as well as legal and technical advice.
